202 for Peace Campaign

June is National Gun Violence Awareness Month with June 7, 2024, designated as National Gun Violence Awareness Day. In summer 2024, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Public Safety and Justice, along with the Office of Neighborhood Safety and Engagement, and the Office of Gun Violence Prevention will connect with the community to promote 202 for Peace. Increasing public safety and reducing crime continues to be Mayor Bowser’s number one priority. Over the course of the past year, we have focused on introducing and implementing policies, policing strategies, and strategic partnerships that are helping us to reduce crime and increase safety in all eight Wards.
